Environmental aspects – Erosion

Erosion transports rocky material after the process of weathering or human impact has broken bedrock down into smaller, moveable pieces. The use of flails will in most cases increase the erosion. However those effects can be overcome by applying the following principles:

• In areas where rainy seasons will occur – using the machine well in advance of the rainy season. Allowing the soil to recover before the rain commences.

• Sensitive areas, i.e. areas that are highly affected by erosion, should be left for other means of clearance. Erosion should be considerd when planning and executing tasks with the Scanjack 3500.
